Some website called enetation.uk.co or something did my comments before and it was pretty iffy. So with much rejoicing I present a new comment system, courtesy of Haloscan (see that pretty blue button on the right for more info). All of your old comments have been lost but that's OK! You can just make new ones! This provides a sterling opportunity for everyone who frequents this fine website to read every post ever and comment accordingly. I can't wait to hear what you have to say!! I've also changed the format a bit so let me know if it looks weird. Although if you're at a resolution besides 1152 by 864 then that's your problem, not mine.

Anyway.

I'm on the phone with my friend Karl while watching a video for U2's "One" on a little WMP window in the bottom-right of my screen. Karl is talking about fucking my grandfather or something. I can't tell if he means I should, or he wants to. But he also said I should post more so here I am.

Last weekend I spent in Houston for the semi-regular Texas regional. I actually ended up running one of the tournaments because no one else wanted to. I had a lot of fun hanging around with some good friends I haven't seen in a while, along with the usual gang of Austin friends that I see pretty frequently. Tony, Mark, Ryan, Adam, Logan, Chris, John, John, Carlos, Vinnie, Daniel, Dan, Khang, Roger, Jimmy, and anyone else I'm not remembering right now, you guys rule and all that, and should I ever figure out how to post pics, they'll be here.

Didn't really play in any of the tournaments seriously. I played in the Marvel 2 team tournament with mopreme and Chris Chou (this is, by the way, not a good team of people for an MvC2 tourney), and we didn't get last! This is because I beat the second team we played all by myself. Go go MSP. In the 3S team tourney I played with Kamui and Logan Sharp, and we pretty much just acted like jackasses and screamed our move names out and/or "Bull Rush!!!" and I constantly did low forward XX fierce DP with Ken while screaming "DAIIIIGOOOOO!" If you don't understand any of that, don't worry. Somehow we beat a team, because Adam's Remy took them all out. I also played in 3S singles and scrubbed out in three. Whee. In related news I watched pretty much the entire SvC tournament, and as I've mentioned before that game is the worst one ever made, but I have been inspired to play more, so that hopefully I will piss off someone else so much that they threaten my life. Probably not too difficult at the area of town I'm in right now. To this end I'm playing Zero, Geese, and Goenitz exclusively. I can't wait for someone to pick Hugo on my Goenitz. That is probably the worst matchup in fighting game history. Yono...kaze. Yono...kaze. Yono...kaze.

OK well that's really all I got right now. Karl just told me he's cooking rice, like I fucking care. He's also talking about kissing boys. The end.

I awoke this morning at six AM (I pretty much either wake up then or go to bed then, not a lot of middle ground) with an almost overwhelming urge for a sausage muffin. When I worked at USAA, pretty much every morning the majority of my efforts were spent coordinating an extended break with my friend John so we could go to this on-site restaurant called Coyote Jack's and get sausage muffin things with egg on them. They represented, as the sign at Coyote Jack's said, a "Howling good breakfast" (something we would often point out in phone messages, for example: "Are you ready for a howling good breakfast?" and "a-ROOOOOOOOO"). So at six AM I head to McDonald's for an Egg McMuffin meal and coffee. I get home, and lo and behold, in the place of sausage on the muffin-thing, is ham.

Ah, fast food, it HAD been a while!

At this point I'd like to talk about the shower in my new place. Normally I like a high-pressure shower, one that gives me the impression that if I stayed in too long it might begin stripping off my skin. Two of the last three places I've lived had a shower like this. The only exception was the house of this girl I lived with for a bit, where the shower head did its best impression of a really weak ejaculation on an ongoing basis. Imagine someone just spitting warm water onto you, but without much passion. Anyway, this new shower is a bit different. The water is actually extended through the normal arc one might associate with showers. The pressure is just laughable low. It's as though a vast amount of very small pillows are being dumped upon the shower occupant. I very much think I could fall asleep standing in this shower. However, at least the water is an even, steady stream and warms up nicely. So I suppose I am happy with the new shower.

On that note, why do women take baths/showers at temperatures so much higher than men? Maybe I'm wrong and making a broad generalization but every time I've showered/bathed with a girl it's been a near-miserable experience for my skin, inasmuch as it gets the impression it's been dipped into hot oil as punishment for something. Baths are worse I think because one has to kneel to get into them, pretty much, and in doing so subjects their balls to becoming a sort of barometer for the rest of their body. This is the last thing balls should ever be, especially with regards to extreme variations in temperature. I've heard the same from other males regarding female temperature preference being incomprehensibly higher so I assume it's universally true.

In case you forgot I'm a dork, I played through Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne in one sitting. As in, the whole game. Granted, this only took eight or nine hours, but still. In my defense, this was from about eleven PM to the following morning on a weeknight, so what am I supposed to do? Sleep? Psshh. It's not like I work or anything. In any case, this game requires that you shoot a whole bunch of people a whole lot. It's not the most violent game I've played but it's close. The most violent game I've played is still probably Soldier of Fortune 2, which is not so much a video game designed for entertainment as it is a vicious murder simulator, and/or a test of good taste, i.e. if you laugh while playing, you are not my friend, i.e. Robbie Branco.

On tha political tip: the ish with Valerie Plame Wilson has totally blown away all my expectations for the current administration. I'm not even sure I have an opinion anymore, so much am I consumed with indescribable awe at the sheer audacity of actions and subsequent press releases. If you don't know what I'm talking about do yourself a favor and cut-and-paste that name into a Yahoo! or Google search. Or don't, really. All it will do, if you're anything like me, is just skew your ideology further toward making infant noises while crying for help.

Dear Quinten Tarantino and Bill Murray:

I love you both unconditionally and if I had the right parts I would have your babies.

Dear California:

Ur dumb doodz.

The end.

I was going to talk a whole bunch about General Wesley Clark and some interesting things I've read regarding the upcoming election but I read the following and said, "Fuck that, this is far more important and/or weird."

From the great Badmovies site:

Strange but true: Sylvester Stallone is writing, directing, and producing a movie called THUGZ LIVES about the murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. that is said to be something of a hip-hop vesion of JFK dealing with the alleged conspiracies behind the murders. I’m not sure where the Italian Stallion fits into the East Coast/West Coast rap wars but let’s just hope this doesn’t end with Stallone experiencing the same fate as his subject matter.

After this I'm not sure how I can talk about anything else of importance. Baffling.

What do you here?
