Die, monster! You don't belong in this world.
Haven't had a real post in a while, so here goes. You may experience varying degrees of comprehension concerning subjects in this post depending on where and when I know you from. I ask that for anything you do
not understand, please just substitute those sections with the following questions, to be answered in the "comments" section of this very blog:
a) Am I a pretty girl?
b) If the answer to a) is yes, how would I feel about making out with Joe?
And of course for sections you understand, just read them as they are.
In any case, my job kind of sucks! I will tell you why. First off, I am with the entire of my being opposed to the idea of working in the first place. Next, I spend great portions of my day talking to people who are in a number of different states of discomfort, ranging from "mild" to "very." Oftentimes these states of discomfort are because of deaths in their families or because of the company I work for. In any case, neither of these examples illustrate the ideal circumstances under which I would like to converse with people. Adding to this, I have spent roughly the last six months just dicking around at work doing a whole lot of nothing, and finally a few of my superiors decided to notice. So I have to like, work now and stuff. Oh well, less internet, more talking to people about their dead families/money owed/total lack of personal responsibility.
Okay so. Last weekend I went and hung out with Austin friends and participated in some tournaments! I will tell you about them. The tournaments were for Third Strike and Guilty Gear XX. I went 1-2 in both, which is not good, in case you were wondering.
In Guilty Gear, this is entirely because I have not played the game in literally two, three months minimum, and hadn't really played it all that much to begin with. I spent the better part of three matches trying to remember moves for
Axl and
Testament. My first match went down to last round, last hit, I didn't get the last hit because I did Axl's firewheel super incorrectly, and oh well, the guy would have been peaced out fast if I was in practice. Second match I won solely because the guy (Ian of Lackland AFB fame) plays even less than I do. The third match I got owned up on by some Sol player who
dust looped me a lot and I was too lazy to try and do anything about the setups. Anyways peace out, I don't care, I don't play this game and there is no one to practice with in San Antonio anyway.
In Third Strike, I had the good fortune to draw
mopreme first round. He won, though I did make it a lot closer than it should have been - I had shots at every match and all three went to third round; in third match, third round I had a big lead and threw it away because occasionally mopreme decides he'd just rather not take any more damage, thank you. I played Ian second round (in Third Strike as well) and beat his Yun (at one point I got him in the corner and threw him six times in a row, I guess he was scared of low short), then played KAOS of San Antonio fame and lost to his Chun-Li about four hundred times worse than I lost to mopreme's. Matchups I guess. In casual Ian and I played like 30 matches of random v. random, and I'm not making this up, about 90% of them ended up being my Ryu v. his Necro. It was pretty weird.
So that's about it for that. I played a bit of
SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos, a new fighting game featuring Capcom and SNK characters, and I can tell you with confidence that it is the worst game I have ever played. Please do not make any kind of decision for yourself, it is not worth your time. Just trust me. If all your arcade has is
Irritating Maze and SvC: Chaos, play Irritating Maze. If you need to find a way to make it competitive, feel free, get creative, but do not play SvC: Chaos. Not even the inclusion of
Violent Ken or
a Hugo bigger than fucking Sentinel can save this miserable title.
In other news, my good friend Karl now has
his own blog, where you can read his stream-of-consciousness musings about life and liberty and whatnot. I find his postings so far to be pretty entertaining. I hope you do as well.
In
PlanetSide news: I have my fucking
Orbital Strike, bitches. Do not enrage me, or I will call down the very fury of God from on high to smite you down in a crash of blue lightning.
I saw Freddy Vs. Jason last night. I was pretty pleased. It was what I assumed it would be. It was violent and featured Freddy and Jason, which is all I was expecting. It also felt like it was roughly ten minutes long and I don't really remember any of it. It was pretty gory though. Also it featured more gratuitous nudity in the first twenty minutes than all the movies I've seen in the last two years put together, so that's good.
A Perfect Circle has a new song circulating around online, there is a new Revolutions trailer (better than the previous two), and Silent Hill 3 somehow came out without me knowing, so there's that also. Not much else to say really. I'm tired and I wish I had a large bag of money.
